Blackpool started off well in their inaugural season in the Premiership, shocking the pundits along the way who had predicted an immediate return to the Championship. However, a run of one win in 12 has dropped the club to within a point of the relegation zone and talismanic midfielder Charlie Adam admits survival is the only thing that matters.
"I think we've had a successful season so far but you get judged over 38 games," the Scotland international, who has been nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award, told Blackpool's official website.
"It's been a difficult campaign but it's one that we've enjoyed and we're looking forward to the next games. Hopefully we can get the right results to keep us in the league.
"As long as we stay in the Premier League, that's the aim. It'll be a successful season for us to finish in the Premier League for next season."
Adam has experienced life in the spotlight before, from his days with Old Firm giants Rangers, but admits the Premier League is the place to be.
He added: "Life in the Premier League is good. It's a fantastic league and it's a joy to be able to say that I've played in the Premier League.
"It's a totally different comparison to the Old Firm because the pressure is so intense there that sometimes you can get caught up in it.
"Here you're allowed to play and enjoy yourself and this is a fantastic club to play for. Hopefully we can stay in the Premier League."
