Adam admits Asian passion for Liverpool an eye-opener

Former Blackpool captain Charlie Adam says the passion for Liverpool in the Far East has been an eye opener.

Having joined from Blackpool in a deal worth an initial £6.75m earlier this month, Adam's first few weeks as a Liverpool player will have come as a real eye opener as Kenny Dalglish's team received a heroes' welcome everywhere they set foot in the Far East.

"I expected the reception we've been getting a little after speaking to the lads and some of the staff who have been over the Asia before," Adam told the Liverpool Echo.

"So I knew what was coming. But when you come to massive club like this then you expect to have supporters all over the world. It's an honour to be here and all I want to do now is work hard and try and get in the team.

"It's good to be here, it's a massive club, I'm thoroughly enjoying it. It's good to get some time with the lads and get some good training in.

"I'm a Liverpool player now and I'm looking forward to it, the future looks good."
