Sunderland midfielder Billy Dennehy has joined Accrington Stanley on loan until the start of January.

The 20-year-old left-sided player has spent two years at the Stadium of Light but is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Black Cats.

However, he impressed Stanley boss John Coleman in a midweek reserve team game for Stanley and has now completed a move to the League Two side.

Dennehy has also represented his home county of Kerry in Gaelic Football.
