AC Milan striker Ronaldo has dropped into major depression after he was caught up in an extortion scandal in Brazil, it has been revealed.

Extra says Ronaldo has locked himself away from the outside world since last Tuesday, when he moved into his mother's house to avoid the local media.

Sources say his agreement with Nike - worth over £40 million - remains in doubt over the fallout from the scandal.
