AC Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo faces a month out after suffering a thigh strain.

A statement from the club's doctors states that: "Pirlo has a torn muscle in his right thigh and will undergo further tests on Friday."

Pirlo will now miss the Diavolo's opening UEFA Cup challenge against Swiss side FC Zurich and could be out for as long as a month.
