The West London club were interested in making a bid for the Brazilian and they had approached Milan. The World player of the year has now given his lukewarm view on the affair.

"Of course I knew about Chelsea's offer, I found out when I was surfing the net," Kaka told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

"As for our transfer campaign, I am sure things will get underway soon."

"You never know what can happen in future, I may have enough of Milan one day and they might have enough of me but for the moment I am happy here and I love Italy.

"I think the club needs to renew. I have told the directors and we need to find the right mix in terms of youth and experience in order to get back to our strengths."
