Mathieu Flamini insists he joined AC Milan because Arsenal didn't want him to stay.

Flamini said: "I had no doubts about coming here - it was an easy decision. Arsenal didn't leave me with the option of staying in London.

"Milan contacted me and immediately made me feel important. I never even considered other clubs.

"I play for a club that is among the most successful in the world and it is an honour. I want to write my name in the club's history."
