AC Milan wing-back Djamel Mesbah admits he came close to signing for Fiorentina.

The full-back was linked with a switch away from the Stadio Meazza, but the January signing from Lecce opted to stay.

"Towards the end of the window, the Viola did express an interest," the 27-year-old told Sky Sport Italia. "However, by then, I had already decided to stay with the Rossoneri."
