AC Milan have won the traditional season curtain-raiser, the Trofeo TIM.
Jeremy Menez and Stephan El Shaarawy struck to beat Sassuolo 2-0 and win the title ahead of Juventus.
The Rossoneri had won their opener 1-0 over Juventus, while Sassuolo lost to the Bianconeri by that same scoreline, but still had a chance of winning the trophy on goal difference.
It was their first Trofeo TIM for six years.
