AC Milan are willing to spend what it takes to sign Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku is reported to be close to signing a new deal at Everton with the club desperate to keep him at Goodison with two-and-a-half years left on his current contract.

The Daily Star says Everton value the big Belgian at around £75m – but that will not raise eyebrows at the San Siro as the Milan money men finance a major rebuilding project to make them kings of Serie A.

The club's investors have a pot of £140m but other money could be raised to grab Lukaku along with other targets.

A San Siro source said: “He possesses aggression, composure and an eye for goal needed to succeed."
