AC Milan GM Adriano Galliani aims to open talks with Liverpool over a January deal for Suso.
Gazzetta dello Sport says Suso pledged his commitment to Milan earlier this season, with his Liverpool deal due to expire in June.
A pre-contract can be signed from January 1, but Galliani hopes to bring Suso to Milanello for the second-half of the season.
With Keisuke Honda leaving for Japan's Asian Cup campaign, Milan see Suso as ideal cover.
Everything will depend, however, on Liverpool's asking price.
