AC Milan captain Massimo Ambrosini has welcomed the arrival of Fiorentina midfielder Riccardo Montolivo.

Montolivo is joining Milan on a Bosman.

"It would be dangerous to give Montolivo too much responsibility in his first season here at Milan," said the veteran.

"You can't ask Montolivo for a lot. You don't obtain or reach important things quickly.

"New players? Currently, nobody knows what the club's plans are for the transfer market…"
