AC Milan tracking Schalke defender Benedikt Howedes

AC Milan are tracking Schalke defender Benedikt Höwedes.

The Germany international is set to be sold by Schalke this summer as they seek funds to strengthen other areas of their squad.

Milan are monitoring Howedes' progress this season, but will face competition from Bayern Munich.
