AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato was pleased with his own performance in defeat at Real Madrid.

Real cruised to a 2-0 Champions League over visiting Milan.

"We suffered a lot and lost," the Brazil international striker admitted. "We conceded a quick and unexpected goal.

"Now we have to play the second leg better at home and forget this game.

"They were very good, but there is still the return leg."
