West Ham United are reportedly close to signing AC Milan striker Alessandro Matri.

The Daily Mail is reporting the 31-year-old is looking to leave the San Siro after dropping down the pecking order following the arrival of Mario Balotelli from Liverpool.

It is understood West Ham are the frontrunners for Matri's signature as they look to bolster their options in the front third following injuries to Andy Carroll, Enner Valencia, Diafra Sakho and Mauro Zarate.
