AC Milan striker Stephan El Shaarawy is upset missing out on World Cup selection with Italy.
El Shaarawy had been called up for pre-World Cup fitness tests, but didn't make the 30-man provisional squad.
"He was upset," said agent and brother Manuel El Shaarawy. "He always had hope, but unfortunately couldn't play consistently. If he had a few more games under his belt, then he could've been in the 30 and once in training show Cesare Prandelli what he can do.
"The only reason he wasn't called up is that he hadn't played for several months. It was purely a fitness issue. If he had made his comeback a month earlier, he certainly would've challenged for a place at the World Cup."
