Flamengo chiefs are determined to make a serious play for AC Milan star Ronaldinho.
The Brazilian ace attracted a January approach from Flamengo, though insisted he wanted to remain in Europe.
Now, Flamengo presidential candidate Patricia Amorim, supported by current vice-president Marcos Braz, has told fans they're willing to splash out to bring Ronaldinho to the club should they be elected.
Braz's influence is crucial, as he was the driving force behind the winter market bid and was able to establish a good relationship with Ronie's brother and agent, Roberto de Assis.
Ronaldinho is contracted to Milan until 2011 and there are plans to offer him a two-year extension.
