AC Milan have hit financial crisis.
Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi is in the process of selling the club to Chinese investors.
La Repubblica says plans to build a new stadium are on hold due to a 92m loss registered in December 2014.
It's emerging it would be cheaper and simpler to co-ordinate with Inter Milan in sharing San Siro and restructuring the arena, especially with news the Metro line will be extended to give the stadium its own stop.
