AC Milan intend to send Mario Balotelli back to parent club Liverpool.

Calciomercato.com says Balotelli is set to return to Liverpool at the end of the season.

The Italy international has failed to shine on his return to the San Siro.

He has scored just twice in 10 appearances for Milan and they are unlikely to make his move permanent.

Kop chiefs have offered to do a deal for around £5.5m but their valuation is considered too high by the Italians.
