AC Milan have sought information on Villarreal goalkeeper Diego Lopez.

Lopez only joined Villarreal in the summer from Real Madrid and has failed dislodge Sebastian Viera as the club's No1.

That hasn't stopped Milan from making enquiries after Lopez through Franco Tancredi, who was Real Madrid's former goalkeeping coach when Fabio Capello was in charge.

Tancredi was full of praise for Lopez and informed Milan directors that he would've been Real's No1 if not for Iker Casillas' presence at the Santiago Bernabeu.
