AC Milan have sacked coach Pippo Inzaghi,

Inzaghi was dismissed this morning, announced the club, after a disappointing first season in charge.

"AC Milan communicates that it has fired the first team Coach, Filippo Inzaghi, who the club thanks for all his work," read an official statement.

Inzaghi had been promoted from the Primavera team last season. But failure to guide Milan into the European places cost him his job.

Former Sampdoria coach Sinisa Mihajlovic will succeed Inzaghi, with some sources reporting he was at the Casa Milan today.
