AC Milan boss Leonardo has dismissed any talk of a January exit for midfield ace Gennaro Gattuso.

The Italy international has been linked with a move away from the San Siro with Manchester City's name included in the speculation but the Brazilian tactician has cooled any rumours.

"I have spoken to (AC Milan club administrator Adriano) Galliani," said Leonardo. "I often speak to Gattuso and it's not true. There is no truth in claims that he wants to leave."

Leonardo said that Gattuso was still recovering from injury and would be back in the fray soon.

"Gattuso's priority is to recover," added Leonardo. "He is out injured and it's normal that a player who is recovering from injury is eager to come back to play.

"Milan's project is to use all the players we have available."
