Chelsea must cover a percentage of Fernando Torres' wages if he is to move to AC Milan.
The London Evening Standard says Torres is set to join AC Milan on loan if the Italian club can agree a deal with Chelsea for his £180,000-a-week wages.
Milan want to take Torres on a season's loan but are willing to contribute only £4.5million to his wages, which works out at £86,000 per week. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea would be prepared to pick up the remaining £5m of the bill for their out-of-favour star.
If they cannot agree a deal for Torres, Milan may turn their attention to Roberto Soldado. Tottenham are keen to bring in another striker before the transfer window closes next Monday and would be willing to let Soldado, who turns 30 next May, leave to make it happen.
