AC Milan Primavera coach Pippo Inzaghi has explained turning down an approach from Sassuolo.
Sassuolo have since named Alberto Malesani as new coach.
"Regarding the news over the last few days, I wish to thank President Squinzi and Sassuolo for the opportunity to be a part of their project," said Inzaghi.
"I am flattered and honoured that Sassuolo, an ambitious club with clear, innovative and solid ideas, thought of me as their Coach.
"However, it seemed only right to support and respect Milan's decision to keep me in charge of Rossoneri Primavera side.
"Now I will continue, with hunger and enthusiasm, in my journey along with the lads."
