AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi says the signing of Brazilian teenager Alexandre Pato has shut the door on any chance of Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko returning to Stamford Bridge.
"I haven't heard from him for a while," confessed Berlusconi. "Unfortunately with Pato we have filled our quota of non-EU players, so that closed the door definitively on Shevchenko.
"I know that he was very pained by that and I hoped he would return, but things went another way. I also understand the Chelsea patron who did not want to sell him back to us for half or even a third of what they paid a year ago."
