AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has blamed the constant close attention Kaka is receiving in games for his below-par performance in last week's Champions League defeat to Arsenal.

"Against Arsenal, Kaka was not in the best shape, because he was also suffering with an injury," said Berlusconi. "He is capable of making an extraordinary recovery, but he is always subject to very hard tackles and often from the back, because the opponent fails to keep up.

"This should be prevented not only in respect to Kaka, but for all the players of that type."
