AC Milan are ready to make an £8 million bid for Liverpool defender Dan Agger.

The Daily Mail says Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has confirmed a defender is the priority for the January transfer window as Alessandro Nesta has been injured for much of the season.

While Agger's contract runs until 2010 the Dane's agent, Per Steffensen, has said he is uncertain about the player's future.
