AC Milan directors are preparing a move for Barcelona fullback Gianluca Zambrotta.

Long-term injury suffered by Marek Jankulovski has convinced Milan they need to add a new fullback, particularly with Beppe Favalli and Cafu close to announcing their retirement.

Zambrotta knows Barca are already sounding out potential replacements and is prepared to return to Italy next year.
