Corriere dello Sport says Milan chiefs are turning to the Ivory Coast ace after finding negotiations with Palermo difficult for their Brazilian centre-forward Amauri.
A January deal is unlikely, however Milan are prepared to wait until the end of the season to land Drogba in a £20 million agreement.
