AC Milan legend Savicevic urges Jovetic to stay with Fiorentina

Montenegro Football Federation president Dejan Savicevic has urged Stevan Jovetic to not skip out on Fiorentina. Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid are all chasing Jovetic, who struck a sensational brace in the 2-0 win over Liverpool this week.

"I called him and we spoke yesterday just as we did after his goal against Samp. I told him to continue playing as he is and to stay humble and serene because this is Stevan and his great game against Liverpool is only a confirmation of his qualities," AC Milan legend Savicevic told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I wasn't in the least bit surprised by his performance. The important thing is to give him trust. That's what Prandelli has been giving him in small doses. He was right to send him on the bench against Livorno because he had played a lot of games. He then entered and decided the game."

Asked if Jovetic will leave Florence, the Milan legend replied: "A few phone calls might arrive between now and June. We are talking about a 20-year-old boy who is doing great things. But I am sure that Fiorentina will not sell him.

"The ideal thing would be if Stevan grows with Fiorentina and stays with them for another two or three years, then we'll see if any irrefutable offers arrive in the style of those for Kaka and Ibra. Hopefully the teams that spend millions won't be allowed to do so in three years time.

"Fiorentina are looking to become a force in Europe and Jovetic will surely arrive at the highest level. Stevan can really become someone in Florence."
