Paolo Maldini is being linked with Leonardo's job at AC Milan. Tuttosport says Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani's approach to Maldini a fortnight ago to come out of retirement has developed into a coaching offer.

Maldini, however, is unlikely to be offered the top job, despite the speculation.

Instead, Maldini is likely to take a technical director's role, working with Ariedo Braida from next season.
