AC Milan legend Maldini: Chelsea coaching offer came too soon for me

AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini admits he came close to joining Carlo Ancelotti's coaching staff at Chelsea.

Maldini was sounded out about moving to London last summer by Ancelotti.

He revealed: "Yes, I went to London shortly after my retirement, it had only been ten days since my last game.

"So to take the offer and move to London, although beautiful and important as an adventure it was at Chelsea, I really did not want to do that at that time."
