AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini is backing Massimiliano Allegri as next coach of the Rossoneri.

The former Cagliari boss is expected to be named new Milan coach within days.

Maldini said: "I like it a lot. I like the style of play his teams express. Let's say that he is linked to Milan's past.

"It is still not official, though."
