AC Milan left Tevez to Juventus to push for Everton target Honda

AC Milan gave Juventus a clear run at Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez with an eye on Keisuke Honda.

Corriere dello Sport says Milan, concerned about losing a non-EU spot in their squad, decided not to compete with Juve for Argentina star Tevez in order to keep the place clear for CSKA Moscow attacker Honda.

The Japan international is also wanted by Everton boss Roberto Martinez, but Honda has told his representatives he wants only to move to Milan this summer.

Surprisingly, Everton actually have greater spending power than Milan at this stage in the transfer market and are offering Honda superior personal terms.
