AC Milan are launching a bid for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

Tuttosport says Milan are prepared to bid €70m to convince Real to part with the Frenchman.

However, Real's sale of Alvaro Morata could complicate the issue, with the striker due to sign for Chelsea on Thursday.

Benzema is also a first-choice for Real coach Zinedine Zidane, who would be desperate not to lose his countryman.

However, Real's board have the opposite view, believing this summer is their last best chance of selling Benzema for a major fee.
