AC Milan are using their relationship with Kia Joorabchian to discuss a deal for Barcelona midfielder Javier Mascherano. Joorabchian represents both Mascherano and Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez, who remains Milan's top January target.

Mediaset says Milan chiefs have already struck personal terms over Tevez with Joorabchian in the last week and also have registered their interest in Mascherano.

Milan will seek to bring the former Liverpool midfielder to Italy in the summer for €15 million.

The Rossoneri plan to fund both deals by cashing in on Alexandre Pato. The striker's agent will be in Milan today to discuss the youngster's future with club directors hoping to raise €40 million from his sale.
