AC Milan goalkeeper Diego Lopez is backing Jose Mourinho for the Manchester United job.

Mourinho is expected to be confirmed as Louis van Gaal's replacement at United this week.

Lopez was signed by Mourinho at Real Madrid and has remained a staunch ally of the Portuguese coach.

He told Onda Cero: "Mourinho is unique.

"I am confident that with him, Manchester United will again become a great team."
