AC Milan goalkeeper Marco Amelia feels he proved himself in their 3-0 thrashing by Ajax.
Amelia was given an opportunity to shine while Christian Abbiati was rested and performed a series of desperate saves, even though Ajax won 2-0.
"Despite the fact I haven't played much up until now, I proved that I am ready when needed," he told Sky Sport Italia.
"A goalkeeper works a great deal on positioning and when you are only called on sporadically it can be difficult to find the right approach.
"Playing once every now and then is not the best. It's a shame we lost tonight."
