AC Milan are keen to tempt Liverpool striker Fabio Borini back home to Italy.
The Reds have put Borini up for sale and informed intermediaries to find him a new club.
Milan chief Adriano Galliani is moving for the striker, but will be reluctant to meet Liverpool's £10 million asking price. Instead, Galliani will seek a loan deal.
Inter Milan and Fiorentina are also interested in Borini for next month's transfer market.
In England, Sunderland boss Gus Poyet, having taken the striker on-loan last season, is hoping for a reunion in January.
