AC Milan will step up their bid for Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor this week.

Milan have seen Wolfsburg publicly declare Edin Dzeko not for sale in the last 24 hours, which will see them return to the negotiating table for Adebayor.

"Adebayor is the alternative to Dzeko," said Milan's vice-president Adriano Galliani.

"I've called Arsenal to inform them of our interest. I've spoken to Arsene Wenger and Adebayor was part of the conversation."
