AC Milan icon Rino Gattuso has returned to full-scale training.

The midfielder has not played an official game since he was diagnosed with the paralysis of an optic nerve in September.

He had been close to a comeback in January, only to suffer a further setback with an eye infection.

There are now hopes Gattuso could still play this season, as he took part in the full training session yesterday.
