A Kaka penalty was enough for AC Milan to overcome Chievo and move back into second place in the Serie A. The home side went into the clash without the injured Marco Borriello, Gianluca Zambrotta, Massimo Ambrosini, Andrea Pirlo, Paolo Maldini and Alessandro Nesta.

Chievo goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino was in fine form, saving his side on numerous occasions but was unable to stop the Brazilian's well taken spot kick.
