AC Milan defender Mattia de Sciglio was delighted with Italy's 2-1 win over Mexico in their Confederations Cup opener.
The 20 year-old started in the Maracana.
"It's a dream come true to play in the most famous stadium in the world and not something many people can say they've experienced," he told Rai Sport.
"Things went well and in the previous games we were a little tired, but knew we had another four days to work on fitness levels.
"We approached this match the right way from the start and it went the way we wanted it to. At half-time we just said that we had to continue playing like this and would bring the victory home if we carried on."
