AC Milan are confident they've ended Chelsea's pursuit of Alexandre Pato with his new contract. The speed with which an agreement was struck has convinced Milan's board that the Brazilian is not pining to join Carlo Ancelotti at Chelsea.

Milan more than doubled Pato's wages to £2 million-a-year to secure his commitment to 2014.

Despite their dismal stalemate with Bari, Milan hope with his future now settled, Pato can get back to his best form.
