AC Milan coach Inzaghi confident Berlusconi still believes in him

AC Milan boss Pippo Inzaghi is confident he still has the backing of president Silvio Berlusconi.

Berlusconi visited the squad on Friday and Inzaghi thanked the club for resisting calls to sack him.

"Anyone who plays for Milan cannot lack motivation. When you wear the Milan jersey, you must give everything to keep hold of it.

"Berlusconi wants us to get back to winning ways and is aware of our difficulties. He is very intelligent, so expects more in our good moments and stays close to you when things go wrong.

"We should be fired up and angry at our position in the table. The fans and the club know who I am and I think they trust me.

"When results do not arrive, obviously I am sad that the players are blamed. I am strong and can fight against anyone and everything, but I see how hard the players work and want the applause they deserve.

"I hope the crowd will be encouraging tomorrow. At the final whistle we'll be ready for whatever reaction they have - we'll take the jeers if we lose and applause if we win."
