AC Milan coach Gattuso happy being on winning track: But we lack experience

AC Milan coach Gennaro Gattuso believes his team lacks experience.

Gattuso oversaw their 2-1 win against Cagliari on Sunday.

"Are we a team yet? It's still hard to say but we're definitely doing good things," Gattuso told Milan TV.

“The squad is working very hard during the week, they've realised that hard work pays off in the end.

“We're first or second in Serie A in terms of shots taken. We need to improve our finishing because we create a lot but end up with very few goals.

“The team is alive though, they know how to suffer.

“People forget that the average age of this squad is 23, we can do a lot more but you don't buy experience at the supermarket.

“You get it by gritting your teeth and playing, with wins and losses. But this is a very talented squad with great potential.

“Franck Kessié? I don't like talking about individuals, it's true that Kessié had a very good game but so did [Nikola] Kalinic who is always criticised.

“[Lucas] Biglia is playing very well too, [Hakan] Calhanoglu, [Giacomo] Bonaventura did very well up until the 70th minute.

“[Davide] Calabria is a very interesting young lad, as is [Alessio] Romagnoli. Gigi [Donnarumma] could have done better on the first goal, but he kept us in the game after that."
