AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti has avoided entering the row with Inter coach Jose Mourinho.
"I think it is right to lower the volume on this shouting match. In fact, I'm going to hit the mute button completely and just won't talk about it," said the Rossoneri tactician.
"I can't say he doesn't deserve a response, as that will only fire up more controversy, so I'm just going to say nothing."
Ancelotti added: "I don't know who will win the Scudetto, but right now we certainly can't be thinking about that. If someone gives us a hand to think about it, then they're welcome, but it is not something we can address today.
"Our objective is third place and in terms of the trophy cabinet that may not count for much, but it is our primary aim this season and could lay the foundations for future success.
"I don't like comparisons with Inter. We want to carry on down our own path and for now third place is in our hands. We'll try to secure it and eventually look to something more."
