After victory over Atalanta, AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti defended the club's transfer policy.
He said: "Admittedly we are not playing well at the moment and must improve, but we will do it by working on fitness and getting people back on the field. I am aware we aren't entertaining the fans right now.
"I don't believe it was a transfer policy problem. Ronaldinho is a great champion and an atypical creative forward, but in the first half of the season he gave an important contribution to Milan.
"Today [David] Beckham acted as a trequartista. So many absences cause problems in the team's system and at the moment our football doesn't move naturally."
