AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri is chasing Chelsea striker Didier Drogba for the January market. Sportmediaset says the Ivorian icon is Allegri's No1 target for the winter market.

Despite the absence of Antonio Cassano, Allegri feels he doesn't need to find a replacement for the Italian and instead wants cover for centre-forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Milan plan to open talks with Chelsea about a free loan ahead of signing Drogba permanently in June when his Blues deal expires.

The Rossoneri won't seek a meeting with Drogba's camp until they know Chelsea are willing to do business. The Ivorian has already made it clear he'd welcome a move to Milan next year.
