Maiorino has the brief to find the 'new Thiago Silva' and has been focusing on Argentina.
San Lorenzo pair Walter Kannemann, 23, and Hector 'Tito' Villalba, 20, have been watched by Maiorino, says Tuttosport.
Corinthians defender Gil, 27, is another under consideration.
